PWN (2014)

Paul Gaurano was one of the core members of PWN, and one of the original cast members of the PWN show. He and Nick Geoghegan founded the channel in 2014, and it was he who drew the official PWN logo. He quit the studio in early 2015, despite protest from other PWN members. Since then, he has remained on good terms with most members of PWN.

Biography[edit | edit source]

The Beginning of PaulWesNick[edit | edit source]

Paul Gaurano proved exponentially important to the early history of PWN. He and Nick Geoghegan had been friends together in fifth period biology class in seventh grade. Though initially their friendship had no filmmaking element, Nick soon discovered that they had a shared interest in film. The speech project for which Nick made Dancing Bad and Chris Smith made Dare was a solo project for Paul, who made a video of himself investigating a paranormal event in his home. The video was uncharacteristically dramatic for Paul. After this discovery, early in 2014, Nick and Paul had plans to make an account on Vine, to make short comedic videos. This plan was ditched in favor of a YouTube channel called "Paul and Nick". The account was created on April 22, 2014.

Initially, Paul and Nick worked on a project entitled "Alone", about a group of kids who wake up one day to discover that all the adults in the town had disappeared. The video would have been approximately twenty five minutes long, and would have starred Paul, Quentin DeVeirman, Braiden Hook, and Chris and Kyle Smith. Only three shots were completed before the project was canceled. Shortly after that, Paul proposed the plot which would become "The Sequence". Unlike Alone, this project was more or less successful. Over the summer of 2014, Nick began writing The Sequence, completing a twenty page script by the time school started again.

Upon returning to school, Paul was introduced to Wes Davies through a PE class that he, Wes, and Nick shared. In early October, Wesley took great interest in the Paul and Nick YouTube channel. During break at school one day, Paul proposed the creation of a show on the channel called "PWN", standing for PaulWesNick. Nick loved the idea to such an extent that he renamed the channel PWN. The very first episode, Interstellar: PWN 1, was recorded after school on Friday, October 10, 2014. Given the format by which the members of the trio introduce themselves, Paul was the very first person to speak in the very first wpisode of PWN.
