The Hottest Lead is a short comedic sketch on PWN featuring Ari Froehlich. The punchline of the sketch is a pun based around the title of their recently released feature film, A Hot Lead.

Description[edit | edit source]

The sketch features Ari picking up a pencil by the lead point, and dropping it, implying that the lead is hot. This is followed by the Inception Bwum, and a definition of the word “lead”.

Background[edit | edit source]

The idea for the sketch came when Nick, nearing the end of production for A Hot Lead, was in chemisty class with Nik Hoffman (of Dancing Bad), who jokingly asked when “A Hot Led” is coming out.

During the recording of A Very Hot Lead: PWN 13, in a cut clip, Ari and Nick explain to Wes the double meaning of “A Hot Lead”. Nick points out that “a hot lead” may also refer to “an attractive protagonist”, while Ari suggests it could refer to “a heated bullet”. This prompts Nick to reference what Nik had said in class. Amused, they agreed to make the sketch.

The IMDb page for the sketch credits both Nik Hoffman and Kyle Smith as writers, though Kyle’s credit came more as an after thought, as he made a similar pun during production.
