The Great Kidnap of ‘43 is a short comedic sketch starring Ari Froehlich, Wes Davies, Chloe Smith, and Nick Geoghegan. The video features the kidnapping of a young girl by an infomercial host, Johnny Febreeze, who subjects the girl to a blindfolded smell test. The video bears a strong resemblance to the sketch Human Trafficking PSA. It was uploaded to the PaulWesNick channel on July 19th, 2017.
Description[edit | edit source]
A young girl called Linda (Chloe Smith) is walking down the street, when a white van pulls up alongside her, and two mustachioed men (Ari Froehlich, Nick Geoghegan) throw her in the truck. A mysterious man in the backseat (Wesley Davies) instructs the men to “take her to the warehouse”.
The girl awakes to find herself blindfolded and tied to a chair. The mysterious man asks her to describe the scent of the room. He berates her about the death of her ten year old brother, who died in the Christmas season many years prior.
Suddenly, the man reveals himself to be famed TV infomercial star and world renouned scentologist, Johnny Febreeze. The warehouse is revealed to be a the set of a Febreze commercial, and the young girl goes along with the commercial.
Then the men leave her there to die.
Cast[edit | edit source]
- Wesley Davies as "Johnny Febreeze", a TV spokesperson for Febreze, who kidnaps young people and forces them to smell stuff.
- Chloe Smith as "Linda", a young woman who is kidnapped by Johnny to be used in a Febreze commercial.
- Ari Froehlich as "Kidnapper #1, a man who works for Johnny Febreeze.
- Nick Geoghegan as "Kidnapper #2", a man who works for Johnny Febreeze. He has no spoken lines.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Shot the same day as A Very Hot Lead: PWN #13. In the outro for the PWN, Ari is seen wearing his kidnapper clothing, which he had not been wearing for the rest of the episode.
- Chloe’s appearance in the video was unplanned. She arrived during the filming of PWN #13 to deliver Ari food, and agreed to stay and help film.
- Chloe's is the first speaking role for a female in a non-school project video on PWN.
- The sketch intentionally bears a heavy resemblance to a previous sketch on PWN, Human Trafficking PSA.
- The sketch was originally entitled “Fresh and Febreezy”, and was uploaded as such, though Wesley forced Nick to change the title to avoid spoiling the joke. Unable to create a clever title, he simply called it “The Great Kidnap of ‘43”.
