General Opinions on Marvel[edit | edit source]

In general, PWN opinion of Marvel has always been fairly neutral. Wes and Nick originally bonded over a weird argument over The Avengers, which is brought up briefly in PWN #3.
Paul's opinion on Marvel tended to most closely math that of the common movie fan. He hated very few Marvel movies, though there were plenty he found significant fault in, particularly The Avengers and Iron-Man movies. He had a basic amount of comic-book knowledge, and expressed excitement for then upcoming films such as Venom and Doctor Strange. He had only a passing interest in the X-Men films
Views on Specific Films[edit | edit source]
Spider-Man Trilogy[edit | edit source]
Iron Man Trilogy[edit | edit source]
Avengers Movies[edit | edit source]
In the third PWN, Wesley states his distaste for The Avengers, saying "...on the topic of Avengers, the Tessarect is the stupidest thing I have ever seen." Prior to the reveal of the role which Thanos would play in the films, Wes saw the Infinity Stones as a waste of time, and preferred that the villain would be more of an immediate threat, referring specifically to Dr. Doom.
When discussing Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wes says of Ultron, "Ultron is stupid. He's just another robot that turned against humanity, as if that hasn't been done before".
Captain America: Civil War[edit | edit source]
First mentioned in PWN #3, Civil War has never been of any particular note to the PWN crew. As revealed in PWN #10, all three have less than favorable opinions of the film, which Nick has described as "The best Avengers film and the worst Captain America film". Notably, Ari despises the film, in contrast to his usual tolerance of Marvel.
Guardians of the Galaxy[edit | edit source]
Both Paul and Nick have expressed their enjoyment of the original film. However, Wes, as with many other films, offered the dissenting opinion, saying he did not enjoy the film at all.
Ari has also shown his love for both the original and its sequel. Wes has also discussed the second film, saying he was “pleasantly surprised”.
Doctor Strange[edit | edit source]

Doctor Strange served as the topic of a trailer episode. Wesley seemed the most enthusiastic for the film, having seen the trailer multiple times beforehand and talking excitedly during the trailer viewing. All three of the PWN members enjoyed Doctor Strange, as mentioned in PWN #12. Wesley described the film saying "I think it was good, but could have been a lot... better. It felt like a 'first movie' in a franchise, and I kind of just want them to get to the third already. Just skip the foreplay and show me the cool magic".
